The Role
To insure a safe working environment, while maintaining the highest level of customer service and achieving the Materials Department’s goal of 98% or higher inventory accuracy rate.
Responsibilities
Supervision of union staff, to ensure inventory accuracy by cycle counting, random counts, control counts, and spot inventory counts.- Ensure scheduled satellite storeroom replenishments by, scheduling, planning, and organizing MRP generated replenishment pick deliveries.
- Supervision of union staff, to ensure the receiving and shipping of items to and from vendors.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Product Management/Development, and Quality Control to ensure a high level of internal/external customer satisfaction.
- Organize work process, methods, and quality control measures to monitor and enhance division and system performance along with its adherence to established operational procedures.
- Will assist our staff in creating, planning, and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Will assist the manager in employee development and training.
- Prepare and insure the accuracy of weekly and monthly documents for internal/external auditing.
- Assist in and maintaining bar coding the warehouses.
- Assist in and maintaining DOT compliance.
Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
Considerable knowledge of materials management system, warehousing, MRP II, inventory control methods, and record processing.- Must be knowledgeable in computer applications pertaining to materials management systems.
- Experienced in assimilating information, analyzing response alternatives and formulation of corrective actions in order to achieve desired results.
- Experienced in logistics and material shipping.
- Ability to operate an automobile.
- Must be able to communicate both oral and written.
- Experience in using customer skills.
Must be capable of working in a union environment and able to create a positive and safe work environment.
