Title: Longterm Substitute Math Teacher

Teachers at Cristo Rey OKC Catholic High School must be student-centered, growth-oriented practitioners who are dedicated to working towards educational equity for all students. Cristo Rey OKC seeks teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through ongoing professional development, and through high frequency coaching.
Position Summary
Substitute teachers provide students with specified learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The substitute teacher is responsible for learning continuity, maintaining classroom management, and delivering behavior strategies for the safety and welfare of all scholars.

- Effectively teaches the adopted curriculum
- Executes specific lesson plan prepared by the teacher to create rigorous and engaging learning environment with the wiliness to seek out teaching team support to provide lesson plans as needed
- Sets clear goals to drive instruction
- Maintains a productive, safe, and focused learning environment
- Ability to exhibit classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Ability to execute and model non-physical de-escalation techniques when dealing with inappropriate behaviors

- Take accurate daily attendance in accordance with attendance program
- Grades and gives feedback for work in a timely manner

- Work with students one-on-one when they need extra help or attention

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Hours and work shift may change in accordance with the needs of the school.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft skills.
Preferred Experience
- Applicants with previous teaching experience or that have completed 1-year of student teaching experience or are currently in an approved teacher prep/internship program.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little to no assistance.
- Bilingual speaking and writing preferred
