Job Description:
Summary:
The person in this position will work on high-voltage electrical substation physical design, including site layouts, general arrangements, elevations, component details, component bill of materials, phase spacing, and clearance verification. Responsibilities may include performing quality checks, drafting standard verification, and mentoring junior designers and drafters. The person in this position will be a member of multidisciplinary teams working on projects for power utilities and renewable developers.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2-year technical or engineering certificate/degree or experience/coursework directly related to the responsibilities described above
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
  • Willingness to work as part of a project team in an environment that encourages self-motivation
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience with scaled drawings, including site layouts and geospatial referencing
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microstation
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills involving work with high-voltage substation and transmission distribution design
  • Experience in the consulting industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $21.92 - $41.40/hour. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
