Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking experienced facilitators and problem solvers with experience in submarine systems to support Navy undersea system projects. Candidates will support existing and future customer needs for concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation. Candidates must be able to leverage their experience to quickly come up to speed and help projects with creative thinking, event design, problem solving, decision-making skills, and event facilitation.

What you will be doing:

  • Participate on a team designing and executing facilitated workshops to compare and contrast technical capabilities for future submarine designs
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to help inform government program decisions
  • Support industry and/or government teams in the transition of concepts to prototypes to fleet release
  • Design and execute innovation events to develop tactical guidance for future warfighting capabilities
  • Leverage previous operational or engineering experience to support government engineering teams in the development of new technologies

  • Salary ranges between $80,000-$130,000, dependent on experience, qualifications and other relevant business criteria.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in either:
    • Design, development, execution and results analysis of wargames or facilitated events
    • Design or operation of U.S. Navy submarine systems, or comparable experience with complex engineering systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations research, or an applied science
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance*

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:


  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance*
  • Experience in professional wargaming or facilitated event design teams
  • Experience in design thinking or similar innovation field (i.e., UX, systems thinking, Lean 6 Sigma, TRIZ, Strategic Foresight), which includes facilitating workshops or other events.
  • Experience on an operational SSN/SSGN/SSBN
  • Experience in solving complex problems
  • Experience working with stakeholders and leadership to identify objectives and define a project vision.


  • Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
