Position Description:
HRS Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Healthcare Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide best value healthcare and professional consulting services to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Qualified candidates will have experience supporting a large-scale Integrated Health System. A demonstrated level of expertise across multiple areas of the healthcare industry is required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assessing current organizational states, management systems, and differences between current and targeted states
  • Evaluating and recommending solutions to compile, evaluate, analyze, control, secure, and disseminate timely, relevant, objective, and accurate data and information to VHA and VHA stakeholders
  • Offering guidance on the implementation of disciplined, comprehensive, and flexible program and project management processes
  • Supporting strategic implementation of new technology solutions that improve business efficiency while meeting programmatic goals
  • Making recommendations to support healthcare system redesign, improvement, and management
  • Providing expertise on healthcare policy and regulation analysis and supporting the development of policy recommendations
Experience/Education Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Eligibility to obtain Veterans Affairs (VA) suitability approval to access agency computer systems and facilities required to start work; current VA credentials preferred
  • Master’s degree required; Studies in Health Administration or related discipline preferred
  • 10+ years of related experience providing guidance to implement and sustain healthcare improvements
  • Experience offering expertise to support efficiency and effectiveness in a large-scale Integrated Health System
  • Experience with strategic performance measurement development based upon healthcare industry standards
  • Experience supporting VA or a federal government health-related program is a plus
  • Ability to clearly communicate and exchange information with co-workers, teammates, stakeholders, and other personnel, as required
  • Proficiency working across the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • This job operates in a professional office environment with prolonged periods sitting at a desk, attending meetings, and using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and video teleconferencing equipment.
  • This is a largely sedentary role; however, the ability to move office items such as files, laptop/computer equipment, meeting materials, and other work supplies may require carrying and lifting items up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Business travel may be required.
