ANNUAL SALARY: Molloy utilizes a salary calculation tool that is designed to treat all University employees fairly and maintain internal equity with-in our compensation structure. Salary for individual incumbents are determined by skills and knowledge, position relevant experience, and equity within the University.

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Counselor will advise all students on any issues related to advisement, registration, bursar, and financial aid. Using a proactive approach, the Counselor communicates accurate and timely information to students to keep their college career on track. The Counselor will be responsible for creating and maintaining a relationship across all constituencies that promotes student satisfaction, retention and an increased graduation rate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist students with inquiries and issues at the front counter in person, on the phone, email and text. Work to resolve issue and refer appropriately.
  • Responsible for a caseload of advisees. Provide counseling to all students on topics including, advisement, major exploration, registration, billing and financial aid.
  • Conduct outreach to all continuing students that are not registered for the upcoming semester. Meet with students to ensure a timely progression towards degree completion including but not limited to graduation checks.
  • Assist the Director of Student Retention registering first year students their first semester. Communicate with students about remedial coursework that will affect their academic progression. Present on degree audit and registration in Freshmen Studies classes.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State Financial Aid regulations. Review degree audit and financial aid packages for students registered for non-applicable coursework.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining social media presence and content via Instagram. Develop, promote and facilitate student engagement events and workshops. Maintain calendar of events in CORQ.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree (Social Sciences or Humanities (preferred))
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Databases (Powerfaids)
  • 3-5 years of work related experience
