The Montessori Academy Student Assistants will serve in our afterschool program as afternoon teachers. They will serve children ages 6 weeks-5 years old. They will work collaboratively with the morning staff to ensure that children have a safe environment in the afternoons.

Attend to the needs of Children 6weeks-5years - 90%

Afternoon teachers will provide a safe and nurturing environment for social and academic growth. Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers. Assist with activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling and outside play.

Communication - 5%
Communicate with the morning staff and the afternoon staff to create an environment that enriching for all children.

Health and Safety - 5%
Be aware of our safety procedures and implement cleanliness policies as they pertain to the age group you serve.

Educational Requirements
High School diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Friendly, engaging, and communicative attitude.

Required Experience
Enrolled at GC

Additional Preferred Qualifications
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Preferred Experience
Babysitting experience or some related experience working with young children.
