Your Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a motivated leader to drive our Environmental Services strategic initiatives. We are actively looking for a Strategic Initiatives Team Leader in the Western US to support with process development and continuous improvement strategic initiatives within our BC. The current strategic initiatives include: Project Management Excellence, Safety Commitment, and Collaboration and Communication. As the Strategic Initiatives Team Leader, you will be integral to delivering desired outcomes that achieve our overall goal of becoming world-class consultants.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the following strategic initiatives within the BC in consultation with BC Leadership, Technical Resource Group Leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • For each strategic initiative, develop/understand the scope and desired outcomes and key stakeholders and teams.
  • Review and outline existing processes related to each initiative within the BC.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the efficiency and efficacy of existing processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and evaluate the need for additional processes towards achieving desired outcomes.
  • Assist in the testing, socializing, and implementation of enhanced/new processes within the BC.
  • Develop feedback mechanism to gather inputs from staff and stakeholders on a regular basis for continuous improvement.
  • Report to BC Leadership on a regular basis on progress of strategic initiatives towards desired outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend new initiatives to BC Leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Support new initiatives as adopted by BC Leadership.
  • Must foster effective working relationships between colleagues, associates, clients, and officials.
  • Plans, conducts, and directs complex assignments with a high degree of independence.
  • Completes assignments/projects are complex in nature and require the application of broad engineering knowledge in multiple disciplines.
  • Reviews and evaluates technical work of direct reports and other professionals.
  • Mentors technical staff with varying levels of experience and geographical presence.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports.

  • Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to lead team to meet timelines.
  • Has led and / or supervised a team.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Experience with Lean Principles/Six Sigma a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience which must include relevant consulting, project management, and business process development experience.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $59.23 Per Hour - $88.85 Per Hour (CA, CO locations only)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
