The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Human Services (DHS) merged on July 1, 2022, to form one agency, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). We are seeking a Storekeeper 3 to join the team at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI). This is a full-time position with strong opportunity for advancement, growth and development with HHS.

The Storekeeper 3 runs all aspects of the Storeroom including receiving and verifying incoming goods, auditing and maintaining inventories, filling orders for departments within the Hospital plus other daily duties. The ideal candidate should have superior organizational skills and attention to detail is a must. The Storekeeper 3 also excels at multitasking and offers outstanding customer service. This position works Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with paid holiday, sick and vacation leave, along with other attractive benefits.

CMHI provides inpatient treatment and acute psychiatric services. The facility offers several services including individualized treatment plans and support for children and adolescent patients to continue their education. Individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan. Medication, group counseling and activities therapies might be included as well.

Cherokee Highlights

CMHI is located in Cherokee, Iowa, a city of approximately 5,000 set in the beautiful Little Sioux River Valley in Northwest Iowa. Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

• Three years of full-time work experience in clerical, inventory, stores, supply, or warehousing work.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as a Storekeeper 2.

Additional Qualification Requirements

Designated positions in this class require possession of a valid Commercial Learner's Permit upon hire. Within a timeframe determined by the appointing authority, a valid Commercial Driver's License with the required endorsements and applicable restrictions must be obtained and subsequently maintained to continue employment.
