Cardinal Gibbons Catholic High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida is seeking to hire a full-time STEAM Coordinator for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. STEAM concentrates on the major disciplines of Science/ Robotics and Engineering concepts using Technology and Mathematical skills to produce creative outcomes. This position requires Curriculum Design and Lesson Writing for STEAM Lab classes for all grades, coordinating schedules, managing materials/equipment in the STEAM building, program development and instruction of inquiry-based and engaging STEAM related lessons. This position will require research in the field and open to future STEAM opportunities. The Steam Coordinator must be supportive and respectful of the mission, vision, and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
Qualifications:
- BS / BA Degree in Education, Technology or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Excellent classroom management.
- Knowledge of both the Florida State Standards K-8 for Science and Computer Science and Engineering Design Standards K-8.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience.
- Experience working with Google Suite Programs preferred.
- Experience in Computer Programming (SCRATCH, Robot-C, EV3 Programming Language) preferred.
- Knowledge of Science; Earth, Space, Biology, Engineering, and Physics.
- Experience working with Microsoft software / hardware and Apple software / hardware including iPad's.
- Experience working with educational computer software, its installation and configuration preferred.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
- Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Excellent oral and written English -language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Good spelling and grammar required.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
- Must have a professional demeanor.
