We are looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary and tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

Previous Starbucks Barista experience preferred, but not required.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ability to handle cash and multitask.
• Making handcrafted beverages to meet Starbucks’ standards.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, and body language.
• Requires prolonged standing and walking with full mobility (i.e. bending and reaching from a level height to 6 feet). Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds. Normal hearing, vision, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity are required.
• Ability to perform under stressful, demanding situations in perhaps small quarters of four feet or less, with four foot access and contact with Team Members and Guests.
• Ability to work in a smoking environment.
• Maintains an awareness of applicable laws and operates within those guidelines.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain a high quality of guest service according to Silverton STYLE.
• Check for proper identification.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
• Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.
• Maintain an open line of communication with Managers.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow Team Members, and Vendors.
• Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
• Regular attendance to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
• Arriving on time for all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
• Other duties as assigned.
