Community Manager
(Affordable Housing)
SUPERVISES: All Community Team Members
REPORTS TO: Portfolio Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Manager is responsible for the overall management of the community, including maximizing rental income, maintaining the physical operations, delivering financial efficiency, and ensuring the residents have a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive place to live.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Oversees all tasks relating to leasing the community.
- Abides by and enforces the Fair Housing Laws.
- Inspects vacant apartments after “move-outs” and prior to “move-ins”.
- Create and implement asset management plan, budget and policies.
- Manage the community revenue and expenses.
- Promote and manage resident relations, meet with residents and promptly address concerns.
- Perform routine property inspections to ensure the community is run First Class.
- Collection of bad debt accounts.
- Enforce all policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high performing, customer focused team.
- Promote development through training and team building.
- Conduct business in line with Company Core Values and Mission Statement.
- Assist the Portfolio Manager in all duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) Designation strongly encouraged
- Affordable Housing experience strongly preferred
- BA/BS Degree preferred
- Knowledge of VRLTA, LIHTC Program and Fair Housing Laws
- Minimum of three years working in the multi-family housing industry
- Minimum of three years working in LIHTC
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of management
- Must be detail oriented and have good time management skills
- Ability to work week-ends and evenings as needed
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of MRI Resident Software is encouraged
Candidates will be required to pass a criminal background investigation and a drug screening.
