The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in an applied research setting, or a similar role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- 8 years of experience conducting UX research on products.
- 7 years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
- 5 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization.
- Experience incorporating user research findings into product designs/developments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills, with the ability to move from blank state to well-defined problem with a suitable UX methodology.

Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional team members to define people and UX problems, product opportunities, and technical possibilities.
- Plan, design, and execute comprehensive, exceptional user research solutions at an early stage of product concepts and technology development.
- Translate user insights into actions and recommendations to help shape directions of AI innovation within Google Research and Product Organizations.
- Build effective communication and provocation to influence company strategy, future roadmap, technical investment, product planning and launch, technical showcases, etc.
- Interface directly with executive leaders and key stakeholders.
