Position Overview: The Staff Engineer: E-Sports is responsible for providing support to MSEs IT systems, technical platforms, and media workflows and needs. This position will focus on providing support for systems, events and employees at District E, the E-Sports Practice Facility and Event Space, while remotely supporting systems and users at other buildings as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining IT technical systems, IP networking, and media systems at District E.
  • Provide helpdesk support for all MSE users to resolve application and computer configuration problems, both on-site and remotely.
  • Work with personnel to resolve application problems and provide recommended solutions.
  • Provide network support during team home games for league applications and equipment.
  • Maintain data cabling and fiber systems along with data closets and cable paths.
  • Support the on-site Internet connectivity and IT systems at District E.
  • Provide support for major events at the E-Sports Facility and other MSE sites as needed.
  • Terminate and BNC, RJ45 and other cables as needed.
  • Setup and maintenance of video displays, cameras, lighting, headsets, microphones and speakers.
  • Maintain all documentation, including as-builts, wire lists, cable labeling and other drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, A/V Engineer or IT Systems Engineer.
  • Attention to detail as well as exhibiting total ownership of the technical facility.
  • Experience with online streaming platforms such as YouTube and Twitch as well as videoconferencing applications such as Zoom.
  • Ability to analyze signal flow and associated problem solving skills.
  • Experience with low voltage systems and equipment rack assembly as well as cable management and cabling and connectors such as coaxial, network, optical fiber, BNC, F-type, RJ45, ST/LC/SC etc.
  • Experience with signal flow, video production routers, video production switchers, analog audio systems, audio routers, and audio boards.
  • Comfortability with heights and work on ladders.
  • Exhibits a personable, professional demeanor.
  • Experience with live event staging and broadcasting, supporting live events and the concepts of live video production techniques is required.
  • Esports and gaming experience, preferably the “NBA 2K” and “EA Sports NHL” franchises.
  • Knowledge of computer software, operating systems, hardware, and IP networking.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software in relation to the latest generation gaming consoles.
  • Knowledge of IP networking concepts such as routing, switching, TCP/IP etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows and macOS environments. Knowledge of Linux a plus.
  • Solid grasp of office automation products and computer peripherals including printers and scanners.
  • Knowledge of Visio/AutoCAD.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; ability to prioritize work with competing deadlines.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Ability to problem solve remotely and provide clear instructions.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
