Job Summary: The Staff Development Trainer is responsible for facilitating trainings that include, but are not limited to: New Hire Orientation, Code of Conduct, Defensive Driving, CPR/ FA, SCIP-r. The Staff Development Trainer works with the Director of Staff Development and Training to ensure that all training programs implemented are successfully meeting the needs of our workforce.

RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Facilitates meaningful, relevant and compliant trainings for the Agency.
  • Develops and tracks effectiveness of training programs. Monitor adherence to the established training programs to ensure standard work in the training programs.
  • Seeks ongoing skill development on an ongoing basis (i.e., participating and conducting skill classes, cross-training, etc.).
  • Documents feedback and audit results to help the department identify strengths as well as area of improvement.
  • Assesses development needs for individuals and groups.
  • Understands workflow and daily production goals.
  • Solve problems, reacting quickly and productively, serving as a resource for specific problems and undertaking the appropriate steps to resolve.
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and presence on the floor; and
  • Facilitates and presents to groups of up to 50 people in a class, including participants at the managerial level.
  • Create and maintain employee certifications electronically for ease of access.
  • Work with the Director along with internal and external parties to develop and maintain a yearly training schedule, to ensure all Behavior Intervention Specialists, Direct Support Professionals and others are meeting their yearly training requirements.
  • Utilizes the Agency Learning Management System to develop and facilitate learning. opportunities, including scheduling of classes and logging completions.
  • Researches, develops, and maintains all training that would benefit the Agency.
  • Provides coaching, one-to-one and group presentations on behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Support the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and minimum of 3 years working with OPWDD regulations and/or supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Experience delivering training/information to peers, hourly associates, and senior management, both individually and in groups
  • Experience delivering messages related to performance
  • Ability to give and receive feedback effectively
  • Evidence of ability to prioritize, manage and complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Desire to thrive in a dynamic, growing environment
  • Willingness to work different shifts and travel within the Tri State area to support other sites
  • Facilitation skills – teaching, presenting, training
  • Basic computer knowledge in all Microsoft Suite applications preferred
  • Prior knowledge and skills necessary to apply positive behavior supports is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required

· Bi Lingual a plus but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
