Overview

Do you have a passion for learning, development and Human Resources? We are looking for a talented Staff Development Consultant to join our HR Learning & Development (L&D) team. You will engage with people throughout the Laboratory about Learning & Development related initiatives. Initiatives may include confirming course pre-requisites, producing and preparing training materials, facilitating learning logistics, database management and general reporting of training metrics and statistics.


Responsibilities

We are searching for a passionate professional who is excited about Learning and Development and contributing to an inclusive people experience. This position uniquely positions you to perform routine assignments, including administrative support, that will provide exposure and practical application to Learning and Development fundamental theories, principles and concepts. Some key responsibilities include:
  • Serves as an initial point of contact for routine questions and issue resolution.
  • Communicates through various channels and tools about Learning and Development initiatives and courses.
  • Identifies areas for process improvement and contributes to implementing creative solutions.
  • Utilizes hybrid workplace tools for meeting management and to support courses and events.
  • Manages training portals and databases; compiling, tracking and verifying data. Develops and maintain records of procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all training arrangements are made including room logistics, and food and refreshments preparation, audio/video equipment set-up, and purchasing and preparation of training materials.
  • Maintains master schedule for internal training programs, helps maintain internal course and event registration website, and manages classroom calendar reservations.
  • Sets up appropriate contracts and manages a large volume of material and service purchases.
  • Reconciles travel expenses for team members.
  • Regularly interacts with all levels of the PNNL team and external vendors.
  • Ability to identify new learning tools and systems and research best practices in Learning and Development and HR.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS/BA or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent proficiency with technology including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Zoom.
  • Experience with coordinating and managing group purchasing and travel or relevant skills that requires organization, ability to follow procedures and priority management.
  • Experience recommending and utilizing modern technology tools.
  • Experience with learning systems and resources.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience preparing and delivering communication through various mediums, including verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage with all levels of an organization and have a team centered philosophy.
  • Continuous learner.
