JOB SUMMARY:

The position is located in Yemassee, SC and cannot be performed remotely. Reporting to the Director of Administration the Staff Accountant/Lead Bookkeeper is responsible for various accounting tasks to support the needs within the company. We are looking for an someone to perform daily accounting tasks that will support our financial team. Assisting in ensuring the Accounting department runs smoothly, while safeguarding transparency and efficiency in all transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares complex accounts payable invoices and check requests for timely payment, including assignment of correct general ledger account numbers and verification of invoice information.
  • Enters accounts payable items into accounts payable software and verifies data for accuracy.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Creates new vendors in accounts payable software.
  • Creates biweekly accounts payable check runs. Ongoing tracking and reporting of processing discrepancies with an emphasis in process improvement, as well as working with others internally and externally to resolve vendor payment issues.
  • Prepare Monthly Sales Tax Report
  • Monthly Bank, Credit Card and Payroll Reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of Officers’ and Biweekly Employees’ Payroll
  • Preform Accounts Receivables Functions and Reconciliations
  • Assist in the Preparation of 1099 Filings
  • Make Timely Payments for the Company’s Incurred Expenses by Conducting Collections on a Daily Basis
  • Assist in 401k Administration
  • Assist with some Human Resources duties
  • Perform and Assist in Many Other Duties

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency is required
  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Solid understanding of QuickBooks
  • Knowledge of ADP would be extremely helpful.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with various levels of personnel
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION:
Have at least an AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field is preferred. Years of experience will also be evaluated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $36.00 per hour
