Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the staff accountant is to maintain and support the accounting records and financial information for entry into the corporation’s general ledger. Perform support functions and prepare required reports, assist with annual audits, and compile statistics detailing financial results.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant (HUD experienced) include the following, but not limited to:

  • Maintain One Site system for rent and security deposit records for tenants of the 3 HUD Properties.
  • Billing of HUD 202 and private pay rents as well as maintain cash receipts for both.
  • Maintain general ledger and A/R for HUD Community Programs.
  • Assist Accounting Manager in month end close process which includes preparing and entering journal entries to Great Plains.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze expenses.
  • Assist in preparation of annual HUD audit.
  • Responsible for reconciling bank accounts for HUD Community Programs.
  • Assist in preparation of cost report for Assisted Living Program.
  • Prepare Replacement Reserve drawdown documentation and request and complete transfer of cash to proper accounts.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Accounting or Business preferred and at least three of relevant experience; equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have good computer skills.
