We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Process Engineer with a background in Polymer Chemistry to design optimal seal SOLUTIONS for our customers.

Principal Purpose:
Perform all duties in support of Polyurethane, Epoxy, Polyester and PTFE resin processing. Formulation research and development, production batch blending, process specification, process optimization, quality assurance, physical property testing and technical support to customers.

Responsibilities:

Create a work environment where we closely follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with both Company procedures and all other relevant regulatory agencies

• Assure quality and consistence of production batches
• Oversee production processes to ensure desired product characteristics are achieved
• Optimize product chemistry to meet our customer requirements
• Create cost savings through production process optimization and operational improvement ideas. Develop innovative solutions to all aspects of production
• Work closely with and develop relationships with vendors
• Work closely with test lab to develop efficient testing methods to evaluate product characteristics
• Work with customers on specific formulations to meet desired properties
• Operate as an effective team member with peers from R&D as well as other departments
• Provide training to production personnel and other departments
• Support ISO 9000 initiatives and other company initiatives
• Performs other related duties.

Requirements:

• MS or PHD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science; or BS with equivalent work experience
• Strong understanding of the processing technology of Polyurethane, Epoxy and Polyester Resins
• Knowledge of PTFE resins also a plus
• 5+ years minimum of hands-on industrial experience in a closely related field
• Good communication skills

Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 50#, reaching, fine manipulation
