SPOTTER DRIVER - 2nd SHIFT

JOB PURPOSE

Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractor to transport trailers on company property or on public highway safety to ensure products meet Fair Oaks Farms and customer expectations in quality and delivery. Must possess all requirements for having a Commercial Driver's License.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to production operations by complying with policies and procedures for meat processing; Good Manufacturing Practices, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations, etc.
  • Contribute to a safe and sanitary work environment by complying with establishment procedures and rules.
  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor.
  • Must be able to drop and spot trailers on finished goods lot.
  • Must be able to back trailers in and out of receiving dock as well as service bays in Service department.
  • Maneuvers trailers in and around tight corners, through manufacturing areas and around high pedestrian traffic.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • CDL License with valid medical card
  • Required High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Possess basic math and computer knowledge including abilities in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must be dependable and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to follow directions, record data neatly & accurately, and work under minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime hours as company necessitates.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and good mathematical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment safety.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; clime or balance, stoop, kneel, couch, or crawl, talk or hear as defined below.

  • Standard of 8 hours shifts and longer as company requires
  • Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
  • Lifting /Carrying a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Use both hand necessary
  • Operation of powered industrial trucks (requires certification training).

SAFETY AND SECURITY
Observes safety and security procedures such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Material Safety Data (MSD) sheets, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), LOTO as trained and certified, Emergency Evacuations and Building Security; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and injuries: near miss/incidents/accidents timely; Uses and cares for company equipment and materials properly.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to balance; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear as defined below:

1. Sit long periods and/or walk for some periods of time while around machinery in an assembly line process.

2. Able to stoop, bend, and crouch occasionally. Lift 15-20 lbs. items for company events.
