The Shafer Center for Early Intervention in Owings Mills, Maryland is looking for a highly motivated speech-language pathologist to join our growing school and clinic. The Shafer Center is committed to providing treatment to children and young adults on the autism spectrum. We utilize a whole-child approach to therapy to maximize the potential of each child. Essential Job Duties of the SLP:

  • Evaluate and treat speech-language skills of clients
  • Write comprehensive evaluations and follow-up reports to include information about current levels of ability and recommendations for intervention when required
  • Document aspects of care and meet services standards such as on a SOAP note, billing form, progress update, report, and other documents
  • Provide quarterly written progress using data collection procedures
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings to include writing goals, objectives, annual reports and providing support and training to client families and caregivers
  • Promote generalization as an outcom eof intervention to other settings including the classroom and to the client’s home environment
  • Provide training to staff
  • Participate with an interdisciplinary team to collaborate to develop a comprehensive plan of care for clients including implementing behavior intervention plans
  • Implement AAC teaching and strategies when appropriate
  • Adhere to professional and ASHA code of ethics
  • Follow applied behavior analysis protocols such as behavior intervention plans.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from accredited university or college
  • At least one year of related experience is preferred
  • Current MD license or eligible to attain one

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
