Sow (Pig) Farm Team Leader Job at A&J Farms, Inc
A&J Farms in Flowell, Utah is a multiplier sow farm who's mission is to produce high quality piglets with an emphasis on gilts to be used in commercial sow farms as replacements. Our team prides ourselves on the care and management of our animals.
A&J Farms is currently looking to hire an HOD, aka team leader or supervisor, for our herdsman team. The herdsman team is responsible for mother sows and their litters from a few days after birth until wean. They coordinate and carry out sow movements to and from the farrowing barn, perform castration, tail docking and vaccination of piglets, care for the basic daily needs of sows and piglets, provide medical care as needed, prepare piglets for wean, and load weaned pigs onto a livestock trailer.
Requirements:
-Fit enough to lift up to 75 pounds, lift 10-20 pounds repeatedly for upwards of 2 hours, and walk long distances.
-Fluent in English and Spanish
-Maneagement or leadership experience
-Good with record keeping, noticing details, counting, recording numbers, planning and organization, and be able to write legibly.
We are currently offering a $600 sign on bonus. Bonus will be paid out in $200 increments at 30, 60 and 90 days of employment.
