Position Overview:
The Advanced Sourcing Manager is responsible for working with the Electronics and Cabin Category Management Teams (CMTs) collaborating with engineering on new product development programs to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with Navistar’s business objectives. The Advanced Sourcing Manager is a strong negotiator focused on the most strategic and complex sourcing projects, often involving supplier-owned Intellectual Property and requiring long lead times and early source selection. Sourcing scope is focused on new programs in Electrical Components (HMI/displays, controllers, modules, EV and high voltage, rotating electrics, radios, sensors, switches) and Cabin (mirrors, interior/exterior lighting and wiper systems).Responsibilities:

Navistar’s Procurement Team has an immediate need for an Advanced Sourcing Manager focusing on Cabin and Electronics programs
The Advanced Sourcing Manager is responsible for working with the Electronics and Cabin Category Management Teams (CMTs) collaborating with engineering on new product development programs to develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with Navistar’s business objectives. The Advanced Sourcing Manager is a strong negotiator focused on the most strategic and complex sourcing projects, often involving supplier-owned Intellectual Property and requiring long lead times and early source selection. Sourcing scope is focused on new programs in Electrical Components (HMI/displays, controllers, modules, EV and high voltage, rotating electrics, radios, sensors, switches) and Cabin (mirrors, interior/exterior lighting and wiper systems).
- Work with advanced engineering teams to develop cost estimates and strategic sourcing plans for new product introductions that align to the category strategy as well as program timing and objectives
- Prepare strategic sourcing package and manage quotation process developing qualified bidders list, gather all technical and commercial requirements, issue RFIs, RFQs and RFPs
- Analyze quotes, assemble supplier proposal assessment with CMT including technical, quality, manufacturability, financial health, etc.
- Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve queries or issues
- Develop negotiation strategy and lead negotiations, including all financials (cost, piece price, tooling, development costs, packaging etc.) and commercial terms with supplier to achieve best overall total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Lead category alignment to a recommended source
- Prepare and present required sourcing nomination materials and secure approvals per internal governance process
- Negotiate and execute commercial/legal agreements such as Nomination Letter, Comprehensive Supply Agreements, and Development Agreements

Bachelor’s degree

At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
- Master’s degree
- At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience
OR
- At least 7 years of purchasing/procurement experience

Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
- Procurement experience in electrical components in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries
- Experience sourcing components, discovering competitive options and leading negotiations
- Ability to read, understand, and execute commercial agreements and contracts
- Ability to read and understand 2D drawings and product specifications
- Technical knowledge and interest, ability to understand technical concepts
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communicator at all organization levels and across functions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
