Semper Solaris is looking for an organized and motivated
Solar Safety Manager in the Socal and NorCal area.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on best practice, safety, OSHA and other regulatory requirements
- Schedule and run monthly safety meetings
- Audit and QC inspections on residential job sites
- Request and follow-up on safety-related documents from field and operation managers
- Review and revise Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) on a recurring basis
- Manage vendor relations with a 3rd party safety provider
- Review and update safety material and best practices
- Inspect Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to Fall Protection Harnesses, Safety glasses/goggles, gloves, etc.
- Responsible for managing safety equipment needs and working with purchasing to make sure the needs are met in all branches
- Perform post-accident and injury investigations and identify opportunities for improvement
- Liaise with the HR department and other Workers Comp point of contacts as needed
- Provide and develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management as requested
- Conduct and oversee regular and new hire safety training
- Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all company safety-related matters
- Stay current and up to date with OSHA and other regulatory safety guidelines and requirements
- Travel to various branches ensuring safety regulations and guidelines are met
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations and guidelines
- Minimum of 5 years' safety experience in construction with an emphasis on roofing and electrical
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Solar, roofing, and or HVAC industries a must
- Previous experience implementing processes and procedures A MUST
- Previous working experience as a construction laborer or Solar laborer a plus
- NFPA70-E for electrical, OSHA 10, OSHA 30 minimum, and OSHA 500 preferred
- CHST – Construction health and safety technician as entry-level, ASP/CSP (Associate safety professional and certified safety professional) preferred
- Associate’s or bachelor’s in environmental health and safety, occupational safety and health, engineering
- First aid trainer/trained
- Competent in fall protection, electrical hazards
- Must possess a valid California driver license and a minimum of 2 years driving for a company
- Practical and conceptual thinking as related to project descriptions and needs
- Ability to foster teamwork and be a great member of the team
- Creates and welcomes open and honest communication
- High computer literacy-experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, Office 365 and Salesforce
- Exhibits unquestionable integrity and work ethic
Pay rate: $64-97k
