Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position designs, develops, documents, and maintains campus enterprise applications. Primary activities include growing, and building applications for university educational and administrative systems. In addition, this position will support methods to integrate applications with the campus computing infrastructure, which includes authentication, provisioning, and enterprise portal services; utilizing current technologies and DevOps philosophies. Emphasis will be placed on solution design, providing development support for critical systems, managing application builds, updates, integrations, user interface design and web services.

This position is eligible for remote work pursuant to Cal Poly's Telecommuting and Remote Work Guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

Department Summary
Information Technology Services (ITS) is a fast-moving team that is responsible for helping Cal Poly achieve academic excellence through developing and implementing learning, teaching, and administrative solutions which leverage technology that align with strategic goals and objectives. With a focus on continuous improvement, ITS fosters innovation, supports continuous learning, and develops people to their full potential. Our team of more than 170 professionals works in a DevOps environment to shape the technology landscape at Cal Poly.
Key Qualifications

Demonstrated skills developing enterprise applications using Java and its ecosystem (particularly Maven, Spring, Spring Boot, and Grails), as well as frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, Vue, React, etc.)
Demonstrated skills implementing applications using cloud hosted services (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) and using container-based deployments (e.g., Docker, AWS Fargate, Amazon ECS).
Thorough working knowledge of modern UI design concepts, including model-view-controller (MVC) architecture, and data binding.
Demonstrated knowledge of HTML, JavaScript / TypeScript, CSS/LESS.
Demonstrated skills designing secure REST services.
Demonstrated skills with DevOps application management strategies and techniques; CI/CD workflows and code management standards, and Git-based development.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $93,600 - $107,000 Per Year

Classification Range: $52,464 - $129,504 Per Year
