Multiple Site Supervisor positions are available with the City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department to oversee programs within Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD). The ideal candidates will provide recreation and educational programs and activities; promote, coordinate, implement and evaluate inside and outside activities and events and oversee effectiveness of assigned programs. Make a difference working in the After School Program. Build relationships and be a positive role model to at risk youth located at D.McRae, De Zavala, Greenbriar, and Seminary Hills Elementary Schools, Daggett Montessori, and Daggett Middle School.

This position requires 20-25 hours per week during the 2022-2023 school year (August - May). Monday-Thursday with varying hours from 1:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.

The Site Supervisor job responsibilities include:

  • Help staff to create virtual programming for students after school.
  • Supervise, oversee and participate in the administering of assigned programs; ensure compliance with contract/agreement requirements; assist in the development of City goals for programs and policies. Maintain a high level of safety indoors and outdoors.
  • Monitor, collect, track, verify attendance and schedules, snack and dinner meal reports; maintain record of time and payroll for assigned staff. Maintain accurate daily reports, record volunteer, equipment inventory, materials, supplies, student registration and enrollment for assigned programs. Maintain and update the Fort Worth After School (FWAS) database weekly.
  • Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, community organizations and the general public. Attend and participate in a variety of meetings; plan and prepare agendas and prepare and deliver presentations for the program. Oversee and implement marketing to promote programs and recruit students.
  • Oversee the after school program by providing coaching as needed to implement quality enrichment programs for the youth; evaluate staff, monitor expenditures, perform pre- and post-assessments with youth, parents and volunteer groups; complete disciplinary action forms, submit and document attendance sheets for the FWAS database; verify dinner attendance sheets, implement programs, supervise field trips, coordinate volunteers, and establish partnerships with outside agencies.
  • Coordinate with FWISD faculty and provide effective communication to all custodial and school administrative staff. Coordinate and or partner with school to promote parent workshops and family events.
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that meet and promote educational, cultural and recreational needs of the after school program in person and virtual. Coordinate indoor and outdoor activities; these include science, math, reading, organized recreational games, arts and crafts, and college and career activities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Two (2) years' experience leading children's activities for youth ages 5 – 13 in a recreational and educational environment
  • Minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid, and AED certification during the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must complete tuberculosis screening and pass drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training and evaluation
  • Skilled in customer service, computers and applicable software, organization and time management, and interpersonal relations.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of recreational, educational, and cultural activities

Conditions of Employment

Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires.
