NATURE OF JOB:

Langston University, a comprehensive land-grant historically black institution of higher learning, invites nominations and applications for the position of Site Director, School of Nursing - Tulsa campus. The University is seeking an academic leader who can articulate and advance a creative vision for the future for the School of Nursing; embrace the strategic directions of the University; and advance creative programs that are aligned with the institution's mission and School purpose.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Nursing Program Site Director reports directly to the Dean, School of Nursing and Health Professions. The Site Directors' responsibilities will include: providing academic and administrative leadership to include teaching and scholarly activities;supervising faculty and staff, ensuring that all ACEN and OBN accreditation standards are consistently met; engaging in long-range planning for the School while maintaining a continuous focus on high quality teaching, faculty research, and creative activities to enhance the School's national prominence; enhancing partnerships with local high schools and community colleges; and working with internal and external constituents to assure support for the School.

Education & Experience



Position Qualifications:


  • A master's degree in nursing and a doctoral degree; scholarly distinction appropriate for an appointment to the rank of assistant professor or associate professor (tenure track position); two years of administrative, teaching, budgetary, and personnel supervision experiences at the college level; the ability to meet eligibility requirements for a nursing license in the state of Oklahoma; current knowledge of Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) standards.
  • The successful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
