Purpose: As a Silk Screen Operator, your duties and responsibilities are to setup the press, monitor production, adjust the machine to meet specific DOT Highway specifications, and inspect the finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce DOT(Department of Transportation) Signs for Highways using EC film, Vinyl and Screen Printing.
• Upkeep of all silk-screening equipment.
• Meet established quoted times.
• Review and revise workflow to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify and report areas of improvements and concerns to Department Manager.
• Monitor inventory levels of all raw products.
• Monitor daily activities of employees and provide guidance whenever needed.
• Maintain a positive and safe working environment for employees.
• Assist in developing best practices to ensure quality and productivity.
• Provide job trainings to employees to improve their skills.
• Evaluate performance and provide feedback for improvements.
• Assist in determining staffing requirements for the department.
• Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.
• Completion of all shift paperwork.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and apply workplace safety procedures.
• Practical knowledge of Sign Fabrication and Silk Screening required.
• Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components involving fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate job tasks.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Individual must hold a valid state issued driver’s license. Prior forklift and overhead crane operation is recommended.

Language Skills:

Team member must demonstrate basic language and writing skills to communicate with fellow team members, and to complete any employment related information.

Mathematical Skills:

Team Member must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.

Reasoning Ability:

The Team Member will have the ability to define problems and report them to the Fabrication manager for solution. Team Member must possess the ability to follow and understand instructions assigned by his/her manager.
