Sign Crew Supervisor Job at Transportation, Department of
One (1) year of experience in a highway maintenance title allocated to Grade 8 or above; AND Either one (1) year of experience working on a sign crew in a title allocated to Grade 7 or above OR current DOT certification for aerial lift.
Duties Description
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
- Supervise a work crew and make individual work assignments for crew members, instruct crew in tasks to be performed.
- Provide equipment and materials for jobs according to instruction and operation guidelines.
- Maintain accurate daily personnel and work records; make entries and utilize MMS, outlook email, basic spreadsheets, internet/weather and various other programs.
- Perform snow and ice control; be available for emergency callout (within 1 hour)
- Knowledge of S&I control methods
- Working knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials used for installation, repair, and maintenance of highway signage.
- Must possess strong communication skills to foster communication between the workers, HMS2, and management.

- Telecommuting: The Department’s current telecommuting agreement is valid through December 31, 2022 and is subject to extension beyond that date.
