SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is currently seeking a Shop Foreman to oversee welders and fabricators based out of our Blandon, PA Office. In addition, the Shop Foreman will be tasked with overseeing and maintaining both our shop and industrial field tooling/equipment. Due to our growing crews, we are in search of a Foreman to help keep our shop organized, maintained, productive, and safe. An ideal candidate should possess a solid background in the field, with strong leadership skills, and have the ability to direct work of others and make quick decisions. This position is a "Working Foreman" role and on smaller jobs, the Foreman will be responsible to work alongside of crews to assist in completing the project. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure the Blandon shop is safe and is implementing safe work practices and high-quality work
  • Lead crew members to complete specific projects
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and individual tasks to crew members
  • Oversee and train new crew members
  • Ability to communicate and report job status effectively
  • Utilize instruments for precise layout as needed
  • Track and help maintain project schedules for assigned projects
  • Read drawings, plans, blueprints, and conveying this information to others
  • Supervise all fabrication work in progress and periodically check for quality and accuracy
  • Label, track, maintain shop and field equipment
  • Service equipment such as saws, welders, threading machines, porta powers, and skates, etc.
  • Send equipment out for repair when needed and/or order parts for internal repairs when possible
  • Ability to operate and train others in the proper use of shop equipment such as a bandsaw, punch, shear, and press brake
  • Communicate with field foremen for signing out and returning tooling as necessary
  • The ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Occasional jobsite visits may be required to assist in obtaining field measurements for fabrication, if needed


REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 5 years of shop experience as a foreman or superintendent required
  • Previous experience directing workforce is required
  • Thorough understanding of MIG/TIG/Stick welding processes
  • Thorough understanding of metal processing and forming procedures in a shop environment
  • Must be able to work at heights utilizing ladders, man lifts, etc. is preferred
  • Ability to operate man lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Comprehension of construction and/or fabrication drawings is required
  • Must be familiar with or willing to learn OSHA and MSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to multitask and have strong communications skills
  • Strong math skills and computer skills are required
  • Current driver’s license is required
  • Strong mechanical ability
