JOB SUMMARY

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

Forklift Experience

Material Handling experience including but not limited to loading and unloading of trucks.

Desired Requirements

1-3 years experience in shipping/receiving or materials handling or related field is preferred.

Experience using CMS or similar AS-400 System.

Some computer knowledge and experience

Knowledge and experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Knowledge and experience with KanBan Inventory Systems.

Understanding of FIFO ( First-In-First-Out) Principles.

Understanding of customer satisfaction and requirements including customer supply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

INTRODUCTION

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that all aspects of his or her area of responsibility are in full compliance with the quality system in place at the operation at all times.

• RECEIVING
• While unloading goods, check for damages. Report any discrepancies to the applicable party.
• Verify Bill of Lading on shipments received. Pull BOL and Packing slip from shipment for Materials Planners.
• Notify Quality Receiving Inspection of all incoming production component shipments. Once shipment lot is logged by Receiving Inspector place shipment in the designated storage areas.
• On all MRO (Non-Production) Shipments delivery to the requestor.
• Advise Group Leader of any space problems and equipment breakdown.
• SHIPPING
• Print Bill of Lading and labels.
• Prepare goods for shipment confirming accuracy of goods according to shipping schedule. Affix the correct identification labels.
• Unload and inspect returnable dunnage on shipments.
• Confirm the goods are loaded via correct transport company according to schedule.
• While loading goods on truck, double-check to confirm accuracy of shipment.
• Have truck driver sign shipping documents and forward to shipping office.
• Perform inter-company shipping as required.
• EQUIPMENT
• Ensure all equipment used in performing their job is properly serviced and maintained

COMMUNICATIONS

• Ensure there are no quality or production interruptions or errors due to lack of giving or seeking information by:
• Fully informing the Group Leader where necessary of all events affecting the flow of production.

Recommend and participate with Group Leader in changes to improve the efficiency of the department.

SAFETY

• Follow company safety rules 100% of the time, and insure that all guidelines under the Occupational Health and Safety Act are being followed.
• Reading, understanding and comply with company job safety guide.
• Take action to promptly correct or remove all workplace hazards and unsafe work conditions.
• Provide first aid treatment, if properly trained, to an injured employee, and immediately notify the Shift Group Leader.
