SHELTER WORKER Job at Family Service League Inc.
SUMMARY:
Family Service League is seeking full-time Shelter Worker to work in our Family Shelter located in Brentwood.
$3,000 Sign-On Bonus!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build productive relationships with clients, ensuring proper boundaries with all individuals.
- Provide reliable information to families and client support systems.
- Assist clients in pantry.
- Complete Curfew check daily.
- Conduct rounds for safety.
- Maintain post assigned and ensure appropriate communication with other team members.
- Transport clients in vans as needed.
- Follow supervisor’s direction on all client and program matters and handle special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior experience working in a homeless shelter preferred. Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills required.
Candidate must possess the ability to work as part of a team and be flexible. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
A valid and clean NY State Driver’s License is required.
Availability to work overnights required.
