GMS provides a variety of services aimed at supporting the independence of people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. GMS is focused on providing quality services that promote empowerment, community inclusion, health and safety.

The Shared Living Coordinator is responsible for providing support, supervision, development and guidance to all assigned staff and services. The Primary responsibility is to oversee the components of our Shared Living Program. The Shared Living Coordinator shall maintain communication with various agencies, offices, and individuals including but not limited to the following: DHHS, provider agencies, home care providers, housing organizations, work supports, day programs, medical facilities and guardians. The Shared Living Coordinator will be responsible for promoting new and creative individualized options for individuals served and will work with the Shared Living Manager to guide the growth and development of the program.

Requirements:

A four year degree in Social Services or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be submitted for formal training.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Possess the ability to work independently in an environment that requires flexibility and management of multiple priorities.
Possess professional values and ethics; model confidentiality practices as stated in federal, state and GMS policies.
Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word programs.
Possess the ability to work well with others; be a team player; possess a positive attitude.
The ability to motivate people, exercise conflict management, and decision making.
Ability to pass required background checks, to include: Adult/Child Protective Services; criminal history; OIG Exclusion list; National Sex Offender Registry; Bureau of Motor Vehicles record; and Maine CNA Registry.
