Service Apprentice Job at Classic City Marinas, LLC
On-the-job training/ Career path opportunity in the exciting Marine & Off-road industry! Looking for a driven individual to join our team at West Georgia Boat Center as Service Apprentice. The service apprentices role is to provide support to the service team through a range of job duties ensuring efficiency and success within the department. You will actively aid the Service Technicians and other staff as you learn skills of the trade and become an essential component of our team environment. The ideal candidate should be task-oriented, have a great work ethic, and must be a team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform opening and closing duties to include walking the service dock and service lot to ensure boats are tied up properly-checking covers, cowlings, plugs, etc.
- Perform inspections on pickup boats to ensure repairs were completed and boat is clean, free of grease, handprints, footprints, etc.
- Assist in moving boats throughout the lot via tractor or truck.
- Keep shop clean and organized including keeping unused cords wrapped and stored, compressor attachments put in their place, and tools organized.
- Assist service department employees with lake tests, pickup, and delivery of service boats, and tagging of boats.
- Maintain service equipment such as tractors, trailers, trucks, boat stands, yard arms, etc. including checking all fluids, fuel level, and tire pressure.
- Responsible for cleaning, putting away supplies and equipment, sweeping the shop, and ensuring tractor is parked at end of day.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with parts inventory.
- Answer phones and greet customers.
- Assist in writing Repair Orders.
- Assisting all other service personnel with tasks as requested to keep a smooth-flowing department.
- Anything else needed or asked upon.
