Position Overview
GSG is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer with successful project experience in ensuring the effective execution of design services. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Design of local roads and other transportation projects
· Highway Design (IDOT and Tollway projects)
· Creating and reviewing technical specifications
· Preparing cost estimates of construction projects
· Preparing Bid Documents
· Developing reports, technical memos, and design studies
· Review Shop drawings and provide design support during construction
Required Qualifications
· Illinois-Licensed Professional Engineer
· B.S. in Civil Engineering
· 6-8 years of experience
· Proficient with CAD design software
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
· State, County, Municipal Experience
· Knowledge of IDOT design standards, procedures, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
· Geometric Design
· Experience using Bentley OpenRoads/GEOPAK
· Experience with 3D Modeling
· Maintenance of Traffic Plans
· Utility Experience
· Experienced with drainage projects and hydraulic modeling software
· Experienced with MicroStation software
