Senior Quality Engineer Job at Webasto
Webasto Convertibles USA Inc. is looking for a Quality Engineer their Plymouth Plant.
- Quickly analyze all potential supplier quality issues identified from the incoming inspection, manufacturing, or OEM processes by: (1) executing immediate containment/ countermeasures; (2) establishing initial contact to suppliers; (3) providing clean point information to the plant team; (4) initiating Q2 Notifications (Supplier complaints) in SAP; (5) reporting the status of all activity to production teams; and (6) forwarding the information to the supplier quality and manufacturing departments for long-term resolution activities.
- Facilitate incoming inspection process to ensure conforming product is at production lines by means of: (1) updating incoming inspection control plans; (2) training incoming inspectors on specific inspection techniques and measurement devices; and (3) monitoring incoming inspection area.
- Monitor the rejected materials located in the quarantine cage and execute the disposition of the materials for all supplier related activities.
- Monitor supplier chargeback activities to ensure all cost reimbursements are completed within business targets, or as quickly as possible when targets cannot be achieved due to third party cost totals.
- Effectively work with corporate teams to satisfy customer requirements.
- Perform problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Escalate all issues to Quality Manager and VP Purchasing & Supplier Quality which may prohibit adherence to these responsibilities.
- Follow all corporate procedures, processes, work instructions, guidelines, and best practices used in the automotive industry.
- Understand, utilize, develop, implement, maintain, and follow all quality system procedures, processes, work instructions, guidelines, forms, etc.
- Participate in quality system audits as required.
