We are seeking a Senior Specialist to join the Foundation in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation.

What You’ll Do

ASAPconnect is a fiscally sponsored project of the Foundation for California Community Colleges (the Foundation) as of Summer, 2022. In partnership with the Foundation, ASAPconnect is well-positioned to ensure children and youth benefit from high-quality out-of-school time learning and enrichment opportunities, resulting in positive developmental, academic, and wellness outcomes and increased readiness for college, career, and civic life.

  • Provide strategic integration of supports, including SSEL cross-county and cross-regional collaborations as requested.
  • Co-plan and co-facilitate SSEL meetings as needed, as well as California Expanded Learning Site Coordinator Symposium and other in-person and virtual convenings.
  • Support capacity building of the SSEL, including Compassionate Systems Framework & Tools training and integration, and incorporating youth voice as a capacity builder of the SSEL.
  • Provide support and capacity building of site coordinators and youth leaders, including creating communications and materials built for the California Expanded Learning School of Leadership and Facilitation cohorts of TA Fellows and TA Coaches, and for the Building Our Leaders and Dreamers program cohort of youth.
  • Managing the SSEL communication strategy, including facilitating communication between/within SSEL to build coherence.
  • Support the onboarding of new SSEL members, including sending welcome emails, providing them with CliftonStrengths codes and reports, and managing the distribution of Zoom account subscriptions to them.
  • Support a thriving Expanded Learning workforce, including creating communications to the TA Fellows and TA Coaches leadership cohorts about opportunities in the Site Coordinator Network, the EXLD Workforce Committee, upward mobility, and building relationships.
  • Design social and digital media to convey ASAPconnect’s brand and stories to board, volunteers, stakeholders, and funders.

Attributes for Success

  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
  • Proven ability to use digital and social media to successfully convey information and draw interest.
  • Ability to convey a vision of ASAPconnect’s strategic future to staff, board, volunteers, stakeholders and funders.
  • Proven ability to provide transparent and high integrity leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with and motivate staff, stakeholders, and volunteers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of the system of expanded learning in California.
