Job Summary:
Acts as lead to Business Office Support and Customer Support teams, performing and monitoring the daily functions and activities of the assigned section.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
Serves as a resource person for business office staff:
  • Has knowledge and understanding of all department duties.
  • Assists in new employee training and provides feedback for employees about policies and procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
Displays effective communication skills:
  • Keeps supervisor informed of issues.
  • Assists in identifying employee work related issues impacting daily work flow.
  • Effectively communicates to staff any supervisor or departmental changes in policy.
  • Works with supervisor on solutions to streamline processes.
Knowledge of system application and training.
  • Demonstrates ability to learn, maintain working knowledge and train staff on the following system applications: RCA, Application Extender, PC Print, Outlook, Scanning/Imaging, Mailroom Equipment and copiers.
Essential lead functions and responsibilities:
  • Provides backup to staff to maintain workflow.
  • Participation in in-service programs continuing education programs and meetings as directed by management to remain aware of all changes related to Healthcare.
  • Assists Supervisor in monitoring workflow and providing feedback.
  • Assists supervisor in writing and maintaining procedures:
  • Conducts testing when needed.
Understands challenges of leadership roles and responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of position.

Job Description:
Job Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development (G.E.D.), or equivalent required.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in healthcare setting, researching patient concerns, including general knowledge of insurance billing required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a call center preferred.

License/Certifications
  • Requires the ability to provide transportation to other campus locations within a reasonable timeframe.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must provide job specific training to all new Patient Account Representatives.
  • Ability to provide ongoing training to team.
  • Ability to monitor and document employee production.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team and backup coverage for team.
  • Will look for ways to improve process, procedure and workflows.
  • Must have complete understanding of all aspects of the Revenue Cycle.
