Senior Network Administrator Job at Jefferson - East Falls, PA
This role provides technical and application oversight and support for the campus wired and wireless network supporting all academic departmental systems. The individual will interface with faculty, staff, and students, and align solutions with deployed or planned technologies. Participates in design and development of both wired and wireless network expansion and facilities to extend and enhance the IT network infrastructure of the academic enterprise. Functions either individually or as part of a project team.
- Tests, evaluates, and certifies new software and hardware products relative to network operation and identity management. Develops documents summarizing results and recommendations.
- Participates in planning efforts by support groups for actual rollout of specific networking technologies.
- Assesses components of current network infrastructure and recommends replacement where appropriate (including all routers, switches, firewalls, security appliances, wireless access points and controllers, mobile devices, and applications such as Hyper-V Fortinet/ NAC/ Software Imaging).
- Focuses on aligning IT network services with the needs of academic pillar
- Develops/maintains technology and product standards and policies that will address connectivity, deployment, management, capacity, and security issues.
- Assumes a leadership role for network infrastructure development projects as required.
- Interacts with students, co-workers, visitors, and other individuals consistent with the values of Jefferson.
