Job Description:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As the Mechanical Engineering Technician III , you will assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

  • Perform advanced repairs and/or assist with the repairs and maintenance to all laboratory equipment. Which include brazing, wiring, and using mechanical skills.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all laboratory equipment.
  • Using computers to collect test data, you will set test sequences, email, and data entry.
  • Read, comprehend, install, and conduct tests per the standards written for testing and rating of commercial refrigeration products.
  • Assist with new equipment installation and/or equipment relocation.
  • Utilizing advanced knowledge in alternative and HCFC refrigeration equipment and concepts, implement repairs and upgrades as directed by engineering.
  • Aid in the development of work procedures and work guidelines.
  • Perform advanced refrigeration skills including brazing, system evacuation, charging, refrigerant system troubleshooting, electrical wiring, building of fixtures, data acquisition including HMI setup, instrumentation setup, and the reading of both blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years related experience.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge in all lab testing equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge in computer skills including MS Office and email.
  • Troubleshoot low and high voltage electrical circuits, mechanical, refrigeration systems, system controls circuits, air ventilation, and chilled water.
  • Experience working at varying levels of height.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work on a scissor lift or boom lift at heights of 6 ft. or greater.
  • Ability to climb stairs, carry and use A-frame ladders, extension ladders or scaffolds at heights of 6 ft. or greater.
  • Ability to wear and work in various types of Personal Protection Devices and Equipment.
  • Must be willing to work in varying temperature conditions and in walk-in coolers and freezer rooms.

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $54,000 - $71,400 and will be based on the candidate’s qualification, experience, and education.
