Position Summary

The Senior Investment Analyst will assist the investment team in originating, evaluating, monitoring, and reporting on individual investments and the overall portfolio. The portfolio consists of assets that span public equity, private equity, commodities, real estate, credit, and other forms of alternative assets including derivatives.

The Senior Analyst will have an opportunity to work across asset classes, demonstrating sound investment understanding and the ability to take initiative and lead some duties. The Senior Analyst will interact with GKFF’s senior investment team members frequently to contribute to portfolio decisions and continue enhancing overall investment knowledge, while taking on progressively increasing responsibility. The Senior Analyst should expect to gain significant experience working on alternative investments, which make up the majority of the portfolio.

The George Kaiser Family Foundation investment approach is opportunistic and focuses on valuation and market opportunity – as such the candidate needs to be flexible and interested in working across asset classes in a generalist style. GKFF is a small, entrepreneurial, startup-style work environment where curiosity and the ability to be a self-starter are necessary for success. This position will report to the Deputy CIO or Investment Officer.

As part of a larger philanthropic team, successful members of the investment team will be interested and engaged in the philanthropic work done by the George Kaiser Family Foundation.

Essential Duties

  • Assist with or lead the monitoring of existing investments across asset classes through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Assist with or lead screening and all stages of due diligence for new investment opportunities across asset classes (e.g. reviewing marketing presentations, factsheets, and letters; and conducting manager meetings)
  • Monitor and provide ongoing updates and analysis for existing opportunities in the team’s pipeline
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of individual investments, asset classes and the overall portfolio
  • Contribute to preparation of routine and ad hoc portfolio analysis and reporting for the team, investment committee and others as required
  • Perform market and industry research to aid in identifying and developing investment themes
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree demonstrating strong academic performance required; degree in finance, economics, business or another quantitative field preferred
  • 2-5 years of professional experience relevant to investments, preferably in an investment-oriented role at an endowment, foundation, pension, family office, fund of funds, OCIO or investment consultant
  • Progress towards the CFA charter is preferred
  • Substantial existing investment knowledge demonstrated through a combination of coursework, professional experience and/or other applicable activities
  • Experience and efficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Adobe Pro
  • Excellent quantitative aptitude and strong proficiency in Excel

Hours and Location:

  • Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with the potential for a hybrid work schedule
  • Tulsa, Oklahoma
  • George Kaiser Family Foundation will provide relocation assistance to move to Tulsa, Oklahoma
