Job Description Summary
The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by January 6, 2023. BASIC FUNCTION :

Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Director/Bursar, provide functional support and day to day oversight for the Student Financials module of the (Peoplesoft) software system. Analyze technical needs and determine appropriate solutions. Provide authoritative assistance to stakeholders. Serve on project teams that involves other support staff as needed. Support the Enrollment Services department in its mission to provide high quality customer services. Perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Serve as the senior technologist responsible for the set up and maintenance of functional applications within the Student Financials module of PeopleSoft for both traditional and online programs. Assist with overall administration related to the implementation of technical solutions, reporting needs, fiscal integrity, troubleshooting problems, and user security.

Maintain production set up tables to support newly developed programs under the URI Online umbrella, modify such tables as needed for existing programs, and problem solve issues that may occur with current functionality.

Work closely with URI Online colleagues to ensure accurate assessment of tuition and fees and proper allocation of item type revenue to appropriate accounting strings for all fully online accelerated programs.

Maintain Student Financial item types and course fees. Assist with reconciliation queries and data used by the Controller and the Budget Office.

Collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues impacting the Student Financials system. Serve as the Student Financials liaison for tasks related to upgrades, patches, and 3rd party integration testing.

Assist with the documentation and monitoring of policies and procedures necessary to ensure quality control and compliance.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Maintain a high level of understanding of current developments in Student Financials and anticipate future needs.

Assist with in-house training and support for staff relevant to student financials systems.

Perform other duties as required.

LICENSES , TOOLS , AND EQUIPMENT :

Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, operating system software, applications software.

Required Qualifications
REQUIRED :

1. Bachelor’s degree.

2. Either two years’ experience in a functional information technology position or four years’ experience in a position that included a substantial amount (>50%) of information technology work.

3. Demonstrated ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

4. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

6. Demonstrated supervisory experience.

7. Demonstrated ability to interpret and adhere to institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules and regulations, and standards and communicate them to others.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED :

1. Master’s degree.

2. Demonstrated Higher Education experience.

3. Demonstrated PeopleSoft Student Financials experience.
