Amica is seeking a Senior/Lead Desktop Support and Services Specialist who will configure, install and provide user support for all company owned computer hardware and software. This position will have a focus on automation and streamlining processes throughout the department.

The ideal candidate would be a full SCCM administrator having experience in the following areas:

  • Building query collections.
  • Able to create packages, applications and deployments.
  • Packaging and deploying security updates.
  • Creating and managing an operating system task sequence.
  • Able to create or configure a WIM, driver packages and BIOS updates.
  • Responsible for keeping all clients healthy and maintain the infrastructure.
  • A focus on automation and experience with command line, powershell, SQL and WQL.
  • Knowledge of WMI and active directory.

This position requires onsite work 5 days a week for the first 4 months of employment, then will be allowed 1 work from home day.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise users in the proper usage of personal computer products based on company approved guidelines and act as a technical resource to support the Help Desk, CIS staff and other corporate entities for PC hardware and software.
  • Configure, install, and/or upgrade new and existing personal/laptop computer hardware and software.
  • Accessing and streamlining processes within the team.
  • Being able to automate processes and procedures via scripting methods. (Powershell, SQL, batch files)
  • Supporting virtual desktops and DaaS for our end user community.
  • Perform appropriate PC repairs and, when warranted, place service calls and follow through on repairs of computer equipment.
  • Prepare home grown and off-the-shelf software products for distribution to selected desktops throughout the Amica Network. This includes establishing implementation plans to meet the needs of the business.
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level in multiple capacities in the Desktop Support and Services Team.
  • May interact with vendors to resolve computer hardware and software problems.
  • Administer and enforce hardware and software compliance.
  • Interact with appropriate areas to identify and evaluate software and hardware compatibility issues.
  • Assist the user community, as needed, in the development of solutions using appropriate PC office productivity tools.
  • Assist in the determination of hardware needs of the user community.
  • Give effective mentoring and guidance to other IT development personnel and may assist in developing standards for Desktop Support functions.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years SCCM administration
  • 4+ years with deploying / packaging via SCCM for deployments
  • 4+ years setting up and deploying desktop and laptop driver packages in SCCM
  • 3+ years using and writing powershell scripts
  • 3+ years with Asset management (including assigning Used bys, lifecycle management, inventory management)
  • 4+ years using Remedy platform (including CMDB, Work Requests, Incident management)
  • 3+ years’ experience for a 5,000+ desktop / laptop support on an enterprise level
  • 2+ years of installing licensed and non-licensed software using SCCM or via script
  • 5+ years of desktop and laptop break-fix
  • Experience using Hyper-V
  • Heavy experience using Active Directory
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Great communication skills
  • Come on-site daily
  • Self-starter
  • Good organizational skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Jamf MDM experience (MACs management) (Intermediate level)
  • Intune / Auto Pilot (intermediate level)
  • O365 experience
  • iPhone and iPad experience (Intermediate level)
  • Jira board experience (beginner level)
  • MAC support and or Apple certified
