Summary: The Senior Care Nurse Manager/Case Manager serves as the direct Service Line manager overseeing Senior Care budgeting, staffing, operations, policy compliance, quality, education, and continuity of nursing care to patients. The Senior Care Manager assures the operations of Senior Care at NSMC deliver continually efficient and appropriate level of patient care.

• Serves as the Senior Care Service Line Leader.
• Provides direct and hands-on clinical supervision of Senior Care.
• Assures nursing staff resources are appropriate to the shift/unit needs.
• Assures support staff resources are appropriate to the shift/unit needs.
• Serves as the Department Case Manager.
• Serves as the Department operations manager.
• Updates Department Policy Manual at least annually.
• Serves as Department resources for all regulatory inspections/reviews.
• Identifies and submits new equipment, resources, training requests per policy.
• Leads annual staff reviews. Serves as mentor for Department staff.
• Manages delivery of nursing care to patients.
• Assures completion of the electronic (and/or paper) health record in all phases of care.
• Assures that nursing documentation is detailed and accurate.
• Assures that NSMC Quality Initiatives are followed in terms of provider orders, and carefully coordinated with providers and the Quality Manager.
• The Senior Care Manager maintains a professional attitude, is expected to maintain a high degree of self-motivation and communicates well with providers and those responsible for delivering patient care.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of educational requirements for a Board Certified Registered Nurse in the state of Mississippi.
• Minimum 3-5 years of prior experience as a nursing manager.
• Strong clinical background in adult care and/or geripsych.
• Ability to successfully manage conflict, negotiating “win-win” solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve complex, multifaceted, emotionally charged situations.
