Senior Manager FP&A - Strategic Analyst

Blue Harlan is part of the recruiting team for this Fortune 500 transportation leader. We are seeking a leader to work cross functionally while able to design and implement financial/operation models to assess costs and benefits of key company decisions.

This role within the within the Financial Planning & Analysis department undertakes complex analytics to support many of the most important decisions made at this Fortune 500 transportation company. The Senior Manager role leads teams to solve complex open-ended problems, execute financial / operational analyses, and structure presentations / workshops with senior leaders to drive key decisions. You will routinely work and interact with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Finance, and IT. You will lead high-priority initiatives and will be a key stakeholder in the dialogue with senior leaders to make data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement financial / operational models to assess the costs and benefits of key decisions
• Lead a team through an efficient and effective problem-solving process from initial thought, hypothesis generation / testing, structuring, and convergence to a solution
• Create C-Suite ready communication material to support decision making
• Deliver presentations and facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders
• Build the team by teaching and mentoring

Key Requirements

• 2+ years experience in management consulting or a role that requires equivalent analysis and communication skills
• Bachelor's degree + Preferred Majors: Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Finance, or other quantitative fields
• Mastery of MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience using SQL to extract, join, and manipulate data across multiple databases
• Strong preference for candidates with fluency in Python, R, Matlab, etc.
• Extensive experience building financial and operational models in a wide range of contexts, including cost-benefit analysis and financial transaction support
• Experience delivering written and verbal communication to senior executives
• Experience leading a team through open-ended problem solving to support senior executive decision making
• Effective and organized process manager who structures and executes with minimal guidance Experience coaching others to develop financial modeling, problem-solving, and communication competencies
• Exposure to transportation and/or operations analytic

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $160,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
