What This Role Is

We are looking for a detail-oriented accountant to fill a new position with the Gary Ventures team. As our Senior Accountant, you will prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly accounting close procedures, including reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, accruals, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements for review by Controllers.
  • Provide P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis for management reporting.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules.
  • Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Assist with annual audit and tax preparations.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings.
  • Lean into a culture of continuous improvement and dedication to the automation of the accounting and reporting processes.
  • When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Administer ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Requirements:


  • 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance preferred
  • Multi-entity accounting experience required
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
  • ERP experience preferred, NetSuite or Sage Intacct a plus
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce a plus
  • Must have exceptional analytical, writing, and research skills, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, result-oriented problem solver with a bias for action, and ability to perform in a small team environment
  • Must be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple concurrent projects, and be able to independently identify and solve key business problems
  • A demonstrated ability and interest in working independently with a wide range of issues, as well as the ability to work constructively and creatively as part of a team
  • Capability of meeting deadlines, often within very tight timeframes

This is a full-time role, with a salary range of $70,000 - $90,000.
