IDR Technology Solutions is a Brooklyn based IT and Security company. We have been in business for 15 years and service a wide array of clients including National Developers, property managers, funds managers, private businesses, medical clients, non for profits and schools.

We are looking for one experienced security and data cabling technician and one apprentice technician. We have a great training program and deliver hold all of our technicians to the highest of standards.

Some overtime and prevailing wage work may be available. Competitive pay and benefits packages and steady work.

Some travel required. For local travel outside of normal coverage areas employee will receive gas and toll reimbursements. For travel out of state where a hotel is required, IDR will provide hotel accommodations and meal per diems.

Technician must meet these requirements:

• Able to read plans and work orders and understand scope of work.
• Able to mark up plans and document systems and issues and communicate clearly with customers and staff project managers.
• Be willing to travel outside of NYC, some work in NJ, PA, Long Island and Westchester.

Required Skills:

• Can read site plans
• Can read wiring diagrams
• Can cut and install door strikes
• Can install and troubleshoot maglocks and REX devices
• Can wire up access controllers
• Can wire up two wire and four wire intercom systems including controllers and video distributors
• Can bend EMT and Aluminum conduit
• Can install and troubleshoot data cabling
• Can install and troubleshoot security wiring
• Bonus: Can install and program security alarms
• Basic understanding of power
• Basic understanding of access control systems including triggers, dry contacts, wet contacts etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Experience:

• structured cabling: 1 year (Preferred)
• Intercom: 3 years (Preferred)
• conduit installation (EMT and Rigid/galv): 5 years (Preferred)
• access control: 5 years (Preferred)
• intrusion detection: 2 years (Preferred)
• Rack and Stack: 1 year (Preferred)
• IP and Analog camera: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• NY or NJ state drivers license (Required)
• Vehicle to drive (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 50% (Required)
