Job Duties/Scope Of Work
As a member of the Vulnerability Assessments team, you will contribute to the advancement of our program in the areas of site security risk management. As an analyst on this team, you will be on the frontline of data driven products that influence multi-department and site-wide decisions.

The Program Management & Analysis Organization (PMAO) at Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is currently seeking candidates for a Vulnerability Assessment (VA) Analyst. An ideal candidate brings a diverse set of skills in multiple domains of risk management and security assessments and thrives on creating innovative solutions to problems related to security.

VA Analysts provide technical expertise in the development, operation and implementation of security systems, operational security, nuclear material safeguards, vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, security policy and overall site protection. The analyses produced by this position contribute to Department of Energy (DOE) submitted documents such as the Vulnerability Assessment Report (VAR), Security Risk Assessments (SRA), and the Hanford Site Security Plan (HSSP).

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Engage with various stakeholders regarding security topics.
  • Conduct research and analysis in all aspects of security planning and design.
  • Design and utilizes statistical methods for testing.
  • Recognize areas of data gaps and identify ways to improve processes to remove vulnerabilities in security.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 8+ years of related experience.
  • Degrees in security related discipline, engineering (nuclear, mechanical, electrical, civil), or science (e.g.

computer science, physics, mathematics, chemistry) strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of analysis practices (e.g. engineering, military intelligence, risk management,

cyber security, business intelligence, data scientist/analyst).

  • Demonstrated history of operationally impactful decision making.

***Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance. Any offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a background investigation. As part of the investigation, Federal investigators will examine many aspects of the applicant's past including: financial and criminal histories, mental and emotional health, education and travel, drug and alcohol usage, personal and organizational relationships, as well as other aspects of the applicant's background.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MA/MS) with 6+ years of related experience.
  • PhD with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to work diplomatically with all levels of personnel to include mid-level and senior management of

both contractor and Federal organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with limited oversight.
  • Experienced with SharePoint, Tableau, and any database use and management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour
