The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT) located in Duluth, MN is nonprofit agency dedicated to assisting people seeking recovery from substance use and abuse. CADT believes in meeting patients where they are at in their recovery journey and implements harm reduction strategies as well as more traditional approaches to treatment. CADT offers a full spectrum of care including, detoxification, withdrawal management, medication assisted treatment, residential and outpatient substance use treatment.

Security Officer Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for monitoring the Detox/Withdrawal Management Unit and clinic grounds in order to prevent theft, vandalism, accidents, entry by unauthorized individuals, and overall ensure the safety of the patients and treatment staff at the clinic. This individual assists staff with unruly patients and/or visitors, as well as assist with control of high traffic patient times and areas.

Security Officer Responsibilities

• Periodically do rounds of the building, parking lots and surrounding areas of the premises, examining doors, rooms, windows, suspicious behaviors, vehicles, or individuals to determine safety and security.
• Confront unauthorized persons for questioning; reroute or telephone for assistance based on the situation and need.
• Check cars in both parking lots and verify if vehicles are authorized.
• Check exterior lighting and access routes to emergency and fire entrances; assist with patients needing escort either for safety reasons or because of mobility issues.
• Escort patients and/or staff to and from parking lots as requested.
• Complete incident reports as needed.
• Respond to calls for request for presence by nurses, clinical, or support staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Security Officer Qualifications

• 18 years of age older
• 1 year free from Substance Abuse
• Ability to manage high stress situations
• Must pass MN DHS background check
• CPR Certification within 6 months

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
