Job Description:
Eastman, Inc is located in Browns Valley, MN.
Eastman, Inc. is looking to employ a hard-working, reliable seasonal road construction truck driver to haul material/asphalt from plant to the job site for paving. Must be willing to travel. Belly dump trailer (singles and doubles) are used to haul the material. The season typically runs from May to November, sometimes goes longer depending on weather. All of our trucks have sleepers on them for driver to stay in on the road, or you may find a hotel near the job site. This position travels throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. There are times when a job is located on the Wyoming and Nebraska borders. Typically, the road crew works for two weeks and is home every other weekend, depending on where the job is located.
Successful candidates will be knowledgeable of road safety regulations and be able to use the tablet in the truck for the ELD requirement. Candidate should also be dependable, reliable, and be on time every morning. Candidate should adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Seasonal Road Construction Driver Responsibilities:
- Drivers must perform inspections before and after each trip to ensure that all equipment is in working
- Be aware of surroundings and road crew that works on the ground and in/on equipment at job sites.
- Obey pit rules
- Be ready every morning when the plant is ready to load
- Promptly report any traffic violations, accidents, and vehicle breakdowns to management
- Other duties assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT
- Problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Current Medical Examiners Certificate and ability to maintain a CDL Medical Examiners Certificate
